Winsor & Newton have been producing watercolour paint since 1832 when Henry Newton and William Winsor introduced the first moist watercolours to the world, much of their reputation for supreme quality has stemmed from the Artists Watercolour range.
The Winsor & Newton Cotman Watercolour range is ideal for students and amateurs. However many professional artists frequently purchase from the Cotman Watercolour range especially colours that they use in large amounts. The Cotman Watercolours offer exceptional value for money and although there is a smaller range of colours to choose from the range is sufficient to provide a versatile palette. The fundamental difference between this range and the Artists quality range is the intensity of the pigments. You will need less paint to achieve a more intensely coloured wash with Artists quality than you will with the Cotman Watercolour Paint range. A great many artists are under the misconception that these are inferior quality paints personally we feel that the quality of the Cotman range of watercolour paints is far superior to many so called artists quality pigments on the market.
We stock the full range of Winsor & Newton Cotman 8ml watercolour tubes, Winsor & Newton Cotman 21ml watercolour tubes and Winsor & Newton Cotman watercolour halfpans as well as a fantastic selection of cotman watercolour painting sets.
