 Stratford & York brushes are handmade in England but trace their history to southern Germany in 1878. During the 1930's the company moved to Team Valley on the south bank of the River Tyne. Often duplicated but never quite equalled, the skills of their brush makers and the creativity of their brush designers has made them the largest brush company in Europe making an impressive 15 million brushes a year!
Stratford & York Kielder series brushes have a unique recipe of synthetic hair permitting both strong spring and capacity to hold more medium than is usual in synthetic brushes. It is praised for its fantastic point even in the largest sizes. It is renowned for its excellent value and is especially suitable for water colour painting.
